Scope of this comparison. This covers English-language listings available on K-Beauty Station with a published price, checked on 11 August 2026. It is not a complete list of every provider in Seoul. Ratings are venue-level.
You saw the 18-step head spa on TikTok. Then you tried to book one and found that almost nobody publishes a price.
Here are thirteen head spa treatments at eight Seoul salons with the numbers attached, from ₩44,000 to ₩366,000. That is a spread of more than eight times for something described by the same two words, so the first job of this guide is to explain what actually changes as the price goes up.
① What a Korean Head Spa Actually Is
It is a multi-step scalp ritual, not a long shampoo. A full programme runs roughly 60 to 90 minutes and follows a fixed sequence: diagnose, cleanse, treat, re-diagnose, finish.
The premium tier is built around a reclining spa bed with a built-in basin, which is why those treatments run longer, and cost several times more, than an ordinary scalp treatment. Between the two ends sit salon scalp treatments: shampoo, massage, treatment, blow dry, done in a styling chair.
What the step count does and does not tell you
There is no standards body for step counts. Each salon counts its own way, so a 10-step at one salon can contain more than a 15-step at another. What a step count never tells you is the three things that actually change the visit:
- Duration — 60 minutes and 90 minutes are different products
- Private room or open floor — the single biggest driver of price at the top end
- Language — whether the person treating you can explain what they are seeing on your scalp
Ask about those three when you book. They matter more than the number in the name.
② The Thirteen Treatments, by Price
All thirteen, cheapest first. Prices are what appears on the booking page, in won.
- Head Spa — ₩44,000 · Gungseochae, Seolleung Station, Gangnam · 5.0 (14 reviews). The lowest-priced option in this K-Beauty Station comparison.
- Head Spa — ₩80,000 · HOSU DOSAN, Gangnam · 4.9 (233). Includes scalp analysis, massage and blow dry, and the listing states English consultation available — unusual at this price.
- Scalp and Skin/Contour Lifting — ₩120,000 · LUON AESTHETIC, Gangnam · not yet reviewed. A combined scalp and facial-contour treatment rather than a pure head spa.
- Head Spa and Cut — ₩140,000 · HOSU DOSAN, Gangnam · 4.9 (233). Head spa plus a cut by the head director. The best value if you want both in one visit.
- 15-Step Signature Head Spa — ₩180,000 · Park Jun Beauty Lab Seongsu · 5.0 (98). Scalp scaling, detox and therapeutic massage. The named multi-step programme, at a published price.
- Head Spa 60 min — ₩180,000 · CELLPA by Cheongdam, Garosu-gil · not yet reviewed. Scaling, steaming, shampoo, treatment and DOHI spa. One of only two listings in this comparison that publish a duration.
- Hair and Scalp Care — ₩190,000 · BY SEOUL, Myeong-dong · 5.0 (5). Protein, keratin and head spa options after a 1:1 consultation.
- Head Spa and Make-up — ₩200,000 · HOSU DOSAN, Gangnam · 4.9 (233). Head spa, cut and full makeup, for men or women.
- Scalp Conditioning — ₩220,000 · JUNO HAIR Myeongdong · provided after consultation. The most convenient option if you are staying in Myeongdong.
- Upper Balance Head Spa 90 min — ₩240,000 · CELLPA by Cheongdam, Garosu-gil · not yet reviewed. Upper-body circulation care combined with the head spa.
- 18-Step Premium Head Spa — ₩250,000 · Park Jun Beauty Lab Seongsu · 5.0 (98). Intensive purification, nutrient infusion and extended massage. The full version of the treatment the videos are about.

- Makeup plus Head Spa — ₩366,000 · JUNG SAEM MOOL Inspiration West, Garosu-gil · 4.5 (101). Full makeup by a K-beauty makeup house, head spa included.
How to read the ratings
The rating shown is the salon's, not that individual treatment's. All three HOSU DOSAN options carry the same 4.9 from 233 reviews; both JUNG SAEM MOOL options carry 4.5 from 101. Read it as how the salon is regarded overall.
"Not yet reviewed" means nobody has left a review here yet, not that the salon scored badly. CELLPA and LUON are recent listings.
③ Choosing by Budget
Entry — ₩44,000 to ₩80,000
Gungseochae at Seolleung and HOSU DOSAN. Scalp care at a working hair salon: shampoo, massage, treatment, blow dry, in a styling chair. HOSU DOSAN adds scalp analysis and states English consultation. You will not get a private room or a microscope report at this tier, and for a first head spa that is usually fine.
The programmes — ₩180,000 to ₩250,000
Park Jun Beauty Lab Seongsu's 15-step and 18-step, CELLPA's 60 and 90 minute programmes, BY SEOUL, and JUNO HAIR's Scalp Conditioning. This is the tier the viral videos are about — around 90 minutes, diagnosis at both ends, a spa bed. Within this band the price differences are about the room and the equipment, not about how much scalp care you receive.
Bundled — ₩350,000 and above
JUNG SAEM MOOL's cut-plus-spa and makeup-plus-spa in Garosu-gil. You are buying a designer salon's cut or a makeup house's work, with the head spa included. If the head spa itself is the point of the visit, this is the wrong tier. If you want to be photographed afterwards, it is the right one.
④ Choosing by District
- Gangnam — Gungseochae Seolleung, HOSU DOSAN, LUON AESTHETIC. ₩44,000 to ₩200,000. The whole affordable end of the market is here, and so is the only sub-₩100,000 listing that states English consultation.
- Garosu-gil — CELLPA by Cheongdam, JUNG SAEM MOOL Inspiration West. ₩180,000 to ₩366,000. Premium only, and CELLPA is the one that publishes durations.
- Myeong-dong — JUNO HAIR Myeongdong, BY SEOUL. ₩190,000 to ₩220,000. Convenient if you are staying central, but nothing under ₩190,000.
- Seongsu — Park Jun Beauty Lab Seongsu. ₩180,000 to ₩250,000. The only place to book a named 15-step or 18-step at a published price.
If you are staying in Myeongdong and price matters more than the walk, Gangnam is a short subway ride away and starts at well under half the Myeongdong price.
⑤ How to Choose, in Three Questions
- Do you want the programme or the treatment? If the 15-step language is what brought you here, that is Park Jun Beauty Lab Seongsu at ₩180,000 or ₩250,000. Everything else in that price band is a good scalp treatment described differently.
- Are you fitting it around a haircut? Then HOSU DOSAN at ₩140,000 for spa plus cut is the value play, against ₩363,000 for the equivalent at JUNG SAEM MOOL.
- How much time do you actually have? The ₩44,000 and ₩80,000 options fit in a gap between other plans. The ₩180,000-plus programmes are a 90-minute commitment plus travel, and they are worth building the afternoon around.
⑥ Frequently Asked
How much does a Korean head spa cost in Seoul?
Among the listings in this comparison, ₩44,000 to ₩366,000. Around ₩44,000 to ₩80,000 buys a scalp treatment at a hair salon. ₩180,000 to ₩250,000 buys the branded multi-step programmes, which run about 90 minutes. Above ₩350,000 you are paying for the head spa bundled with a cut or full makeup at a designer salon. Providers outside this platform may price differently.
How long does a head spa take?
The premium programmes run 60 to 90 minutes; CELLPA publishes both a 60-minute and a 90-minute version. Salon scalp treatments at the entry tier are shorter. Most listings do not publish a duration, so confirm it in chat when you book.
Is an 18-step better than a 15-step?
Not automatically. Step counts are each salon's own naming, not an industry standard, and there is no body that certifies them. Compare duration, whether there is a private room, and whether the salon can explain the treatment in your language.
Do I need a Korean phone number to book a head spa?
No. The required signup fields are a nickname, an email address, the code emailed to it and a password. The phone number field is optional and carries a country code selector, so your own country's number works — or you can leave it blank and arrange everything in chat instead.
I am staying in Myeongdong. Where is the nearest head spa?
JUNO HAIR Myeongdong at ₩220,000 and BY SEOUL at ₩190,000 are both in Myeong-dong. If you are willing to travel, Gangnam starts at ₩44,000.
Is a head spa a medical treatment?
No. A head spa is non-medical scalp care, so the rules that apply to dermatology and plastic surgery appointments in Korea do not apply here. If you have a diagnosed scalp condition, see a clinic rather than a salon.
Should I book a head spa before or after a haircut?
Before, if you are booking them separately — the scalp treatment leaves hair clean and pliable, which is easier to cut and style. The combined listings at HOSU DOSAN and JUNG SAEM MOOL handle the order for you.
