15 Terms That Make a Korean Skin Treatment Menu Easier to Read

You open a skin treatment price list in Seoul and, next to the names you know, a row of names you have never seen appears. You do not need to memorise Ulthera, Shurink and Rejuran all at once. Simply sorting each name into a device name, a product or material name, or a treatment method already makes the menu much easier to read.

If you came across Ulthera or Thermage in the United States or the United Kingdom, it also helps to confirm the exact model and composition here. Once you can read the shots, J, cc and vials next to the price as well, preparing for a consultation becomes far easier. Start with the names you are curious about.

Read the small units next to the price first

1. Shot

What it meansA count of how many times the device delivers energy
What to check alongside itThe device name, the tip, the depth and the area treated. Shots from different devices cannot be compared on the number alone

2. J or kJ

What it meansThe amount of energy. 1kJ is 1,000J
What to check alongside itThe device used and the area covered. If the model differs, the same J does not mean the same treatment

3. cc

What it meansVolume. 1cc is 1mL
What to check alongside itThe actual product name, the ingredients, and the volume before or after mixing or dilution

4. Vial

What it meansThe number of product containers
What to check alongside itHow much product one bottle holds and how much is used after preparation. One vial is not always the same cc

5. Round or session

What it meansThe number of visits or treatments
What to check alongside itThe steps and the areas included in one round

6. Number of threads

What it meansThe quantity of threads inserted
What to check alongside itThe thread type, the length, the placement area, and whether the figure is the total for both sides

When you see “shot” on a lifting menu you might picture an injection, but here it means the number of times the device delivers energy. Below we have gathered nine names related to lifting, four injectable products and related materials, and two skin care devices and methods. Go on to check the detailed composition on the product page for any item you are curious about.

The product prices below are based on the listings as of 9 September 2026. They are not a flat fee for the whole face or for one full round, so check the quantity included and the area covered before you book.

Even with the same number, a different unit has to be read differently.

Nine names you will meet on a lifting menu

1 Ulthera Prime is an ultrasound lifting device

What kind of name is it

It is a device called Ulthera Prime, which the manufacturer markets as Ultherapy Prime, and the treatment that uses it. Checking the generation marker Prime is what lets you tell it apart from products that use the earlier device.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It comes up when you discuss sagging around the face or under the jaw, or a loss of firmness. Check which area it would be applied to for you and the range the medical team has planned.

On the price list

Shots. Even at 300 shots, the composition changes depending on how those shots are distributed across the areas.

Look at the product

Kind Global Clinic Myeongdong, Ulthera Prime 300 shots / KRW 890,000.

2 Thermage FLX uses radiofrequency

What kind of name is it

It is the FLX model in the Thermage device family. It uses radiofrequency energy rather than ultrasound.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It may be suggested in a consultation about skin firmness, fine lines and skin that looks loose.

On the price list

Shots. Check the tip that suits the area treated and the number of shots included. The linked product is listed with VAT included.

Look at the product

Reverse Clinic Gangnam, Thermage FLX 600 shots / KRW 2,200,000.

3 Oligio X is a name to read down to the model

What kind of name is it

It is a radiofrequency device called Oligio X. When you compare it with a menu that only says “Oligio”, check the actual model.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It is one of the devices discussed when firmness, fine lines and skin texture are your concern.

On the price list

Shots. Ask whether there are separate products for the face and for the eye area, and which tip would be used on the area you have in mind.

Look at the product

Kind Global Clinic Myeongdong, Oligio X 300 shots / KRW 439,000.

4 Shurink Universe uses ultrasound

What kind of name is it

It is a treatment that uses an ultrasound device called Shurink Universe. The short name “Shurink” on its own does not explain the device generation or the composition.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It comes up when you discuss facial contours and a loss of firmness. If you have been offered another ultrasound device as well, ask why each one is being recommended.

On the price list

Shots. Even if the shot count matches Ulthera, it does not mean the same energy, the same depth or the same composition.

Look at the product

Kind Global Clinic Myeongdong, Shurink Universe 300 shots / KRW 89,900.

5 ONDA is read in J

What kind of name is it

ONDA is a device that uses microwaves. Even within the same lifting menu, read it apart from ultrasound and ordinary radiofrequency devices.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It comes up in consultations about the contour under the jaw, on the face or on the body, and about firmness. Check with the medical team whether it suits the condition of your skin and fat.

On the price list

J or kJ. 30KJ is 30,000J, and it cannot be read across into a number of shots.

Look at the product

Kind Global Clinic Myeongdong, ONDA 30KJ / KRW 129,000.

6 InMode is a name to ask about the handpiece and the mode

What kind of name is it

InMode is a brand and platform name covering several technologies and devices. “InMode” alone on a treatment list makes it hard to tell which handpiece and which mode are actually used.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It comes up in consultations about facial contours or skin firmness. If a detailed name such as Forma or MiniFX is attached, check the purpose of each and whether it is included.

On the price list

The area, the mode, the number of rounds, or a combined composition. Rather than trying to compare by a single shot figure, ask about the specific service.

Look at the product

Wonjin Plastic Surgery, InMode / KRW 130,000. Check the mode and the area that this amount covers.

7 Volnewmer is a monopolar radiofrequency device

What kind of name is it

Volnewmer is a monopolar radiofrequency device. The manufacturer describes it as a 6.78MHz radiofrequency method.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It is one of the devices discussed when your skin looks loose or firmness is your concern.

On the price list

Shots and the area treated. If the product title does not give a shot count, check the quantity actually included.

Look at the product

Wonjin Plastic Surgery, Volnewmer / KRW 220,000.

8 Sofwave is the name of an ultrasound device

What kind of name is it

It is a treatment that uses the Sofwave device. “Timeless” is how the linked clinic labels the product and is not a generic name for the device technology.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It comes up when you consult about firmness and lifting. Do not assume another device works at the same depth or in the same way just because it is also ultrasound.

On the price list

Check whether it is listed in shots, in pulses, or by area. The product title below carries no quantity, so ask what is included.

Look at the product

Timeless Mapo Main Branch, Sofwave / KRW 110,000.

9 MINT Lift is a method that uses threads

What kind of name is it

It is a thread lift using a thread product called MINT. The manufacturer describes the threads as a biodegradable PDO material. It needs to be told apart from lifting devices that deliver energy from outside the skin.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It comes up in consultations about sagging tissue and the line of the face. Ask for a full explanation of the recovery process after the threads are inserted and whether follow up checks are needed.

On the price list

The number of threads. Check whether 4 is the total or the count for one side, along with the thread type and the placement area.

Look at the product

Luho Plastic Surgery, MINT Lift 4 threads / KRW 351,500.

Products and materials you will meet on a skin booster menu

The phrase “skin booster” covers several products and methods. This list includes not only injectable products but also materials whose method of application has to be checked separately. Even when the same cc is written, the ingredients and the way they are used are not necessarily the same, so read the product name together with the actual composition.

10 Rejuran is read with the actual product and the mix

What kind of name is it

Rejuran is a product family based on the polynucleotide (PN) ingredient. The linked “Premium Rejuran 4cc” is the clinic's own composition combining Rejuran Healer, a hyaluronic acid hydrating injection and lidocaine. It does not mean 4cc of the Rejuran product itself, so it is worth asking for the volume of each ingredient.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It comes up in consultations about skin texture, fine lines and the condition of your skin. Ask for the exact product name and the volume of each ingredient.

On the price list

cc. Check the total amount used and the Rejuran volume itself as two separate figures.

Look at the product

Kind Global Clinic Myeongdong, Premium Rejuran 4cc / KRW 199,000.

11 Juvelook separates texture products from volume products

What kind of name is it

Juvelook is an injectable product brand based on poly D L lactide (PDLLA) and hyaluronic acid. Check a product labelled “skin booster” and a product labelled “volume” separately, down to the exact product and composition.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It comes up when you consult about the surface of the skin, such as texture, pores or scars. If filling volume is your goal, ask which product under the same name is being proposed.

On the price list

cc, vials or rounds. Check whether it is the volume after dilution and preparation, or whether a whole bottle is used.

Look at the product

Reverse Clinic Gangnam, Juvelook skin booster / KRW 99,000. Ask about the product and the amount actually used.

12 Exosome is a material term used across many products

What kind of name is it

Exosome refers to the small extracellular vesicles that cells release. On a treatment list it can be used for many products containing the related ingredient or material, so the name alone does not tell you the manufacturer or the composition.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It comes up in consultations about skin texture and skin care. Check first for the actual product name, the source of the ingredient, the method of application such as topical use, whether it is injected and on what basis. A listing of 5cc does not mean it has been approved as an injectable.

On the price list

cc, vials, or a package bundled with another treatment. The same volume can hold different contents. The United States FDA provides separate guidance on the approval of exosome products and on exaggerated treatment claims. Please keep a Korean sales listing and approval in the United States as two separate things.

Look at the product

Diore Clinic, Exosome 5cc / KRW 233,100.

13 Elravie Re2O is read with the product and the volume together

What kind of name is it

Elravie Re2O is a product name based on a human derived acellular dermal material. It uses the tissue matrix of dermis with the cells removed, so it needs to be told apart from the PN in Rejuran and from Exosome. In consultation, check the source of the material and how it is actually applied.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

When you consult about care related to skin texture and firmness, ask about the purpose of the product and whether it suits you. The product name alone cannot settle the method or the injection route you need.

On the price list

The linked product is listed as “1 vial, 6cc”. It gives the number of bottles and the volume together, so you need to check how the content of the original product relates to the amount used after preparation.

Look at the product

Zero Clinic, Elravie Re2O 1 vial 6cc / KRW 605,000.

Two names you often see on texture and pigmentation menus

14 Potenza is a name to ask about the tip

What kind of name is it

Potenza is a radiofrequency device. The composition changes with the tip and the mode used, such as a needle radiofrequency method. Even if the menu introduces it broadly as a “laser”, check the actual energy method and the tip.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It comes up when you consult about pores, acne scars and uneven skin texture. Ask whether it suits your skin tone and the state of your scars.

On the price list

A package covering the tip, the area, the number of rounds and any added product. The name “Potenza” alone does not mean a skin booster is included.

Look at the product

Dr Evers Clinic Gangnam, Potenza RF tip / KRW 99,000.

15 Pico toning is the name of a laser toning method

What kind of name is it

Pico toning is the name of a toning method carried out with a picosecond laser that uses very short pulses. The manufacturer and the device model actually used have to be checked clinic by clinic.

Concerns that bring it up in consultation

It comes up when you consult about pigmentation and uneven skin tone. The approach needed differs by the type of pigmentation, so check in consultation whether it suits the pigmentation in your skin.

On the price list

The number of rounds, the area treated and combined compositions. “Dual” is a word whose details you need to check.

Look at the product

Celin Clinic Gangnam, Pico toning / KRW 42,900.

Frequently asked questions

Are 300 shots on different devices the same amount?

Only the label, a count of deliveries, is the same. The energy method, the tip and the design differ, so price or results cannot be compared on the shot count alone.

If it is 4cc, is there twice the active ingredient as in 2cc?

Volume alone cannot tell you. You need to check the original product, the content of each ingredient and whether it has been diluted. With a mixed product in particular, keep the total amount and the amount of the product itself separate.

If the name is the same, is it the same as what I had in the United States or the United Kingdom?

Please check the exact product and model, the area treated, the method applied and the scope of local approval. A familiar name alone does not make every condition the same.

If I do not know the devices, can I still book?

You can explain your concern rather than the device name. Ask “Please tell me why you recommend this method for my skin and what the other options are”, then look up the names you are offered in this glossary.
